Feast of the Holy Trinity

This Sunday is an especially joyous day for our congregation as four of our catechumens will make public confession of their faith before God and His Church and receive Holy Communion.  And how appropriate that they should be making this confession on Holy Trinity Sunday when we praise God for revealing Himself to us – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – that we might all know Him and confess Him rightly.  The mystery of the Holy Trinity is something we cannot know by reason.  We can only know God if He reveals Himself to us which is exactly what He has done in His Word.  We rejoice that God has made Himself known to Leland, Reagan, Adeline, and Audrey and granted them His Holy Spirit, and nourished and kept them in the true faith through the faithfulness of their parents and teachers and pastors.  May our gracious Lord continue to keep them and us in this one true confession that together we might join the whole host of those from every nation who make this good confession.  I pray that our whole congregation will be able to gather and rejoice with these precious lambs of Christ this Sunday.
