Palm Sunday

What a great joy to begin the solemness of Holy Week with joyous acclamation of praise to our Savior who humbly entered Jerusalem to wage war against the devil, to crush him, to take away all his power over you by dying for our sins, and to restore us to God. We are strengthened that we may endure the sorrow of the cross and be mindful that it was Jesus’ great joy to despise the shame of the cross and save us. Our salvation is not child’s play and yet it is from the lips of children that the sweetest Hosannas ring. We will process around the sanctuary and then lay our palms down this day but, the saints in heaven never lay them down because the victory procession never ends. Jesus died but He has risen and lives and reigns to all eternity. Your salvation is eternal. It cannot be taken from you. It doesn’t matter how dark the road you must walk in this world, you will emerge the victor because your Lord has already trod the way and burst forth in triumph over death. Hosanna! Hosanna! Hosanna to our triumphant King. I look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day.
