Second Sunday after Epiphany

Behold the over-flowing abundance of God’s kingdom of mercy! When man’s righteousness falls short of the glory of God (and it ALWAYS does!) God’s mercy in Christ flows down in rivers of the finest wine. The master of the feast at Cana is appalled at the bridegroom’s foolishness for bringing out the finest wine once everybody had already been drinking freely. But the revelation of God’s righteousness in the Lord Jesus Christ who pours out His Blood on Calvary’s cross to atone for the sins of even those who will never benefit from it because they despise it, always appears as foolishness to man. Why would the righteous die for the unrighteous? Why would God die for sinful man? Because that is the purity and richness of His love. This is the wedding feast to which the Lord invites you – the feast of salvation, the feast of His Body and His Blood crucified and now glorified at the right hand of the Father. Behold the glory of God to abundantly forgive your sins and make you heirs of His gracious kingdom. I look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day and joining you in the wedding feast of the Lamb.
