Seventh Sunday after Trinity

You have enough. You may be biting your nails, anxiously pouring over bills, worrying about the school supply list, grumbling as you pump more expensive gas into your car, but you have enough. As a child of your heavenly Father who can feed thousands in the wilderness with essentially nothing, you have everything you will ever need.  You will have your food at the proper time. In the resurrection you will have the perfect restoration of your body for all eternity. The world and its goods cannot save you and cannot provide for you. The one who doesn’t recognize that every physical and spiritual good he has is from God, is a deluded fool.  God knows your need. He cares about your need. He will show you His compassion. Stop trying to satiate and comfort yourself with the things of this world that have left you only hungry. They can’t satisfy. Only the Lord can. And He most certainly will. I look forward to seeing all of you this coming Lord’s Day.
