Sixth Sunday of Easter

Prayer to our heavenly Father is one of the most precious gifts that Christ has bestowed upon Christians through His atoning death and resurrection.  When we pray we are told that ‘God Himself loves you.’  So our prayers should not be filled with doubt or uncertainty.  None of God’s children should hesitate to cry out to God in any and all situations because God gladly hears and answers our prayers and delivers us.  Every good and perfect gift comes from God.  Prayer confesses that we believe this.  We have need.  God is the giver.  He is our Helper.  He is our Father.  We ought to take a moment to consider all the needs that we have, not only our own personal needs, but the needs of the world around us.  If we truly appreciated our great need, we would never cease to pray.  If we took seriously the threat of the enemies that surround us, no one could silence us  Dear children of God, pray.  Your heavenly Father loves you and hears your prayers and will provide for your every need.  Cry out to Him.  Gather with your brothers and sisters in Christ that together we may lift up our common prayer as dear children ask their dear father.  I look forward to seeing you this coming Sunday.
