The Feast of Pentecost

The kingdom of God is a kingdom without borders. There is no language or nationality where God does not want the good news of salvation proclaimed because there is no sinner that God does not want to be saved. God desires us all to hear and know the truth so that we may be set from our sins, rescued from death and the devil, and be made heirs of His gracious kingdom. That is the great joy and wonder of the giving of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost to preach of the mighty works of God in every tribe under heaven. Faith in God is born and fed by the Word of God, the word which created us and the word which declares us forgiven. This is the daily work of the Holy Spirit, showing us Christ and leading us back to Him. It is the joy of the Christian to gather around the Word of God and hear of the mighty works of the One who died for us, who rose and ascended and now reigns as the eternal victor over all things and who will come again to rescue us from this valley of sorrow and give us a place in the heavenly dwellings. May God the Holy Spirit gather us around the life-giving Word of God that He may bestow upon us all the riches of Christ our Savior. I look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day.
