Third Sunday after Epiphany

What pleases the Lord? It isn’t the biggest, best good works you can think to do or getting your life cleaned up or being healthy. What pleases the Lord is that you believe that His Word is true – all of it. He is pleased when you believe that He desires and gives you all that is needed and good. He is pleased when you believe that your sins will not be held against you nor that your afflictions are God’s anger being poured out upon you. He is pleased when you trust His promises to comfort your aching and sorrowing heart. He is pleased when you rest not on your laurels or your accomplishments, but in all that He has said and done. He is pleased when His Word is your greatest and highest good and you long to hear it as often as He will speak. Come and hear God’s Word which He has prepared for you. It is His will that you hear and believe it and so be saved. I look forward to seeing you this coming Lord’s Day.
