Upcoming Sunday – Aug 16 2020

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

This Sunday is a very special day in Faith’s history.  This Sunday we will officially be established as an independent congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.  The Lord has richly blessed us these past 18 years as a mission congregation of Faith in Plano.  And ever since those humble beginnings, the Word of the Lord proclaimed here has born abundant fruit.  It is our fervent prayer that God would continue to preserve His pure Word among us and open the door for the Gospel to be shared with all in our community.  Starting this Sunday and for the next three weeks, we will all have the opportunity to sign the Constitution and Bylaws that were recently approved by the Texas District.  All those who sign will be charter members of Faith Lutheran Church in Wylie.  This Sunday, we are adding extra seating in the narthex to allow for up to 75 people to attend the Divine Service at 9:30 when the rites of Establishing a Congregation and Receiving a Congregation into Synodical Membership will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Yohannes Mengsteab, the Area B Mission and Ministry Facilitator.  Rev. Mengsteab will also be the lector and conduct other parts of the liturgy.  It is our fervent prayer that you will be able to join us for this joyous occasion.  If you aren’t, please be sure to either come by the church and add your name to the Constitution or we would be happy to schedule a time to bring the signature page to you if you aren’t able to make it out.  We will schedule a time in the future when we can gather together to celebrate this wonderful occasion with food and fellowship. May God continue to pour out His gracious blessings upon Faith Lutheran Church in Wylie for many years to come.  “I was glad when they said to me ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord’!”

In Christ,

Pastor Ulmer
